Barre, Fall 2026: a small market, homes selling faster

By Pat Scanlon and Alana Scanlon · Scanlon Sells Team · September 30, 2026

Barre is a small market: 15 single-family homes sold this summer, the same as a year ago. The median sale was $440,000, up 7.3%, but with so few sales that number can swing widely. There's about 1.6 months of supply.

With so few sales, read these numbers with caution: a single sale can swing the median. The median single-family sale was $440,000, up 7.3% from $410,000 last summer, while price per square foot fell 4.7% to $244. The typical home sold for 99.7% of its list price, with a median of 24 days on market, faster than last year's 36. None of this summer's sales included a seller concession, compared with one last summer.

For context, from April through June the median single-family sale was $412,425, and 30% of homes sold over asking.

Right now, as of September 29: 8 single-family homes are for sale and another 9 are under agreement. That's roughly 1.6 months of supply, still a seller's market. Four of the 8 active listings have cut their price.

Condominiums

Barre has very few condos: none sold this summer, compared with 3 last summer. Today there is 1 condo for sale and none under agreement.

What it means if you own in Barre

Barre homes are selling close to asking and faster than last year, and there's not much for sale. In a market this small, one sale can change the picture. Townwide numbers can't tell you what your home is worth. Your street, your updates and your timing all move the number.
