Halifax, Fall 2026: a small market, steady prices
Halifax is a small market: 39 single-family homes sold this summer, compared with 19 a year ago. The median sale was $625,000, up 1.5%, but with so few sales that number can swing widely. There's less than a month of supply.

With so few sales, read these numbers with caution: a single sale can swing the median. The median single-family sale was $625,000, up 1.5% from $616,000 last summer, while price per square foot fell 14.7% to $348. The typical home sold for 100.0% of its list price, with a median of 22 days on market, compared with 21 last year. Four sales (10%) included a seller concession, compared with four (21%) last summer.
For context, from April through June the median single-family sale was $560,000, and 56% of homes sold over asking.
Right now, as of September 29: 5 single-family homes are for sale and another 14 are under agreement. That's roughly 0.4 months of supply, firmly a seller's market. One of the 5 active listings has cut its price, and new listings were up 36.8% this summer, so buyers have more to choose from than last year.
Condominiums
Halifax's condo market is small: 16 condos sold this summer compared with 5 last summer. That's too few to read a reliable price trend. Today there are 10 condos for sale and 4 under agreement.
What it means if you own in Halifax
Halifax prices held steady this summer, though most homes sold at or below asking. Very little is for sale, so well-priced homes still draw strong interest. In a market this small, one sale can change the picture. Townwide numbers can't tell you what your home is worth. Your street, your updates and your timing all move the number.
